Olivia Maria Kaczmarskyj – 2001 Year in Review

(or at least a partial year in review, since I don’t have a lot to write about before August 11th!)

The fun began on August 11th, my birthday. I was a breach baby, and the doctors tried their best to turn me upside-down, but I refused to let them push me around (I take after my Daddy). So, I was delivered c-section, and boy, did I come out kicking and screaming! Mommy and the doctors all got a good laugh when the doctor started to pull me out of Mommy’s tummy and Daddy said “Trish, it’s the head!”, and the doctor replied, “No, George, that’s the butt!” Lucky for me that since then, there hasn’t been any confusion over what side is what.

I was welcomed into the world by so many family and friends. My Grandma and Grandpa from Colorado, and my aunt from Canada made special trips just to see me! Both of my Grandmas in particular have become “Olivia junkies” – I sure have them wrapped around my little finger!

My dog Harley has been very good with me. He mostly just sniffs me and licks my little feet. In a few months, he’ll become my best friend, when I start eating real food – and dropping my leftovers on the floor!

Mommy and Daddy dressed me up as a peapod for my first Halloween. I went trick-or-treating to a few houses, but Daddy ate all of my candy! Oh well, maybe next year!

Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Laura took me to my first Redskins game. We won and I even got to meet the Hogettes! Aunt Laura is teaching me to be a die-hard Redskins fan, much to the dismay of my Grandpa from Colorado, especially since the Redskins recently beat his favorite team, the Broncos!

Mommy just went back to work and even though she loves her job, she misses me a lot (who wouldn’t?). But I am so lucky, because my Aunt Laura takes care of me during the day, and we have a lot of fun together. Daddy travels to Boston during the week for his job, but Mommy makes sure that he changes his share of diapers on the weekends!

All in all, it’s been a great 4 months so far. I’m keeping my Mommy and Daddy on their toes, teaching them how to be good parents. They’re learning more and more about me every day and they love me a lot – I guess I’ll keep them!
