Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes

Makes 10 Servings
Daria made this dish for
Thanksgiving in the 1990s and it immediately became a family favorite and
tradition for the Thanksgiving dinner.
Ingredients
 |
3 cups cooked and mashed sweet
potatoes |
 |
½ cup regular sugar |
 |
2 eggs |
 |
½ cup melted butter or
margarine |
 |
½ teaspoon vanilla extract |
 |
½ cup milk |
 |
1 cup light brown sugar |
 |
⅓ cup flour

1 cup chopped pecans |
 |
⅓ cup melted butter or
margarine |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix the mashed sweet potatoes, sugar, eggs, 1/2 cup butter or
margarine, milk, and vanilla extract. Place in heat proof 2 quart
casserole dish (same dish to serve)
- Mix with fork the brown sugar, flour, pecans, and the remaining 1/3
cup butter or margarine. Sprinkle over the top of the potato mixture
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
